Babytime

Babytime is a special program of songs, rhymes and simple stories for babies aged six to 24 months. Sessions are held weekly at libraries throughout the Central Coast.

Toddlertime

This exciting program is designed for toddlers, their parents and carers. It utilises a range of songs and rhymes to assist with language, literacy and numeracy skill building. Toddlertime provides the perfect introduction for our Storytime program.  No bookings are required.

Storytime

Storytime encourages a love of reading and fosters the development of new skills to children aged 3 – 5 years in a positive and engaging environment. We share stories, songs and a simple craft. Storytime runs all year, except over summer holiday break.

BaRK Reading Program

Is your child hesitant to practice their reading with you?

Maybe they would prefer to read with a specially trained, non-judgmental and adorable BaRk buddy.

This unique program encourages children to practice reading to an assistance dog within the library.

There are currently precious pups waiting to be read to.

Reading Buddies Program

Reading Buddies is a literacy program for primary aged children.

Volunteers listen to children practice their reading in the library after school.

There are currently vacancies at some of our branches for both volunteers and students in this highly popular program.

Book a Day Program

This program is designed to help families develop a love of reading and prepare their children for lifelong learning. When you register your child you receive:

  • a reading journal
  • a book bag
  • a set of colouring pencils
  • program information

You can count books that have been read:

  • at home
  • at library storytime, child care, preschool or playgroup
  • on your own electronic device
There are fun rewards to collect along the way such as stickers, stamps, novelty items and books.
