Reserves and Lookouts

Our reserves are natural open space areas conserved for their fauna, flora, heritage and landscape values.

There are over 260 natural area reserves, which range in size from less than one hectare to over 600 hectares.

These reserves are managed by council’s Natural Open Space Unit, and cover about 3300 hectares of natural areas within Gosford City.

Many of these reserves are within Gosford City's Coastal Open Space System (COSS) of reserves, and are maintained in a substantially natural state.

The Natural Open Space Unit endeavours to protect and responsibly manage these bushland areas, whilst at the same time providing for legitimate public access and recreation.
